Abstract: Comparison of the X-ray nebulosity surrounding the X-ray and radio pulsar in the shell-type SNR MSH 15-52 with the Crab nebula leads to an initial period for the pulsar ~ 70 ms. The association of the pulsar with the shell remnant confirms the validity of the ∑-t approach in determining the ages of young SNRs using historical calibrators.
