Title: Stable compactification and inflation from higher-dimensional Brans-Dicke theory

Abstract: A higher-dimensional Brans-Dicke model of gravity is studied. It is shown that in the conformal Einstein frame, it is possible to obtain (a) stable compactification of internal space, and (b) a viable scenario for extended inflation.
