Abstract: | We report experimental observations of a curious phenomenon in optical interference where traversing a closed circuit around a singularity in a parameter space results in a measurable phase shift of ±2π whereas traversing a nearby circuit excluding the singularity results in a zero phase shift. These are interpreted as examples of the “nodal singularities” discussed by Dirac. |
