The 'H-NMR spectrum, including the 13C-satellites, of acetone has been investigated in a nematic phase. The satellites due to a 13C-nucleus in the natural abundance at both the chemically different positions were observed and the spectral parameters derived. A carbon-13 substitution has small but significant influence on the proton chemical shifts. The changes in the proton-proton dipolar couplings, caused by a 13C-substitution at the methyl carbon, could also be estimated. The geometrical parameters have been obtained from the vibrationally corrected dipolar coupling constants.en
