Proton NMR spectra of bicyclic diazines such as phthalazine and quinoxaline have been studied in lyotropic liquid crystalline solvents. Values of the indirect spin-spin couplings which could not be derived from studies in the isotropic medium have been obtained. Geometrical information has been obtained in both the cases. The results are indicative of significant solvcntsolute interactions in phthalazine but not in quinoxaline.en
