Abstract

J Heyrovsky’s invention of polarography in which a drop-ping mercury electrode is used in the electrochemical cellrevolutionised electroanalysis, study of electrode kineticsand adsorption studies on mercury electrodes. Polarogra-phy has also directly contributed to the development of newand innovative ideas in electrochemical techniques, instru-mentation and applications.
