How to see the Burgers vector of a quasicrystal dislocation

Abstract

We derive, in a density-wave framework, the ‘invisibility condition’ for dislocations in quasicrystals. Our results should be essential for a correct analysis of dislocations in these systems, in particular for measuring their six-dimensional Burgers vectors.
