A spin-1/2 interferometer using light beams

Abstract

Exploiting the analogy between spin−Image and light polarization and the recently proposed synthesized retarders, including a new five-element general retarder proposed in this paper, we have experimentally studied, using a laser interferometer, phase changes that would arise in several kinds of cyclic evolution in spin−Image systems.
