Abstract

The Nobel laureate said that while the anatomy of the ear had been analyzed, the problem of the 'physiology of hearing' was far from being completely solved. He made these remarks while giving a public lecture on 'Music and musical instruments' at the conclusion of the three-day session of the Indian Academy of Sciences at the senate hall of Madras university.
