| Abstract: | Sir C V Raman delivered his presidential addresss to the Indian Academy of Sciences in which he has propounded the theses that the atmosphere, though held down to the earth by the force of gravity does not rotate with it. He has based his conclusions on the facts of observational meteorology in the light of thermodynamics. |
