| Abstract: | It is shown that the intrinsic two-phonon terms occurring in first order in the electron-phonon interaction Hamiltonian can give rise to (i) an essential doubling of the interaction phase space (BCS cutoff) and (ii) an attractive pairing interaction proportional to the phonon occupation numbers. This suggests a possible enhancement of the superconductive transition temperature in the presence of high-frequency acoustic field. |
