| Abstract: | Two new withanolides, withametelin H and withafastuosin C, isolated respectively, from Datura metel and Datura fastuosa, were fully characterised by chemical and spectroscopic methods. Daturametelin B (as its acetate) and withametelin F were also isolated from D. fastuosa. The results establish a chemotaxonomic relationship between the two Datura species |
