Title: 2D magneto optical trap for rubidium atoms in atom chip apparatus

Abstract: Aim of this project is to achieve a two dimensional magneto optical trap (MOT) for rubidium 87 atoms in the Atom Chip apparatus. Laser light was coupled into the polarization maintaining ber to get highest e ciency and minimum uctuation in the polarization. Atoms in 2D MOT will be trans- ferred into 3D MOT cell. An EMCCD camera is required for the absorption imaging of 3D MOT. In this project, EMCCD camera was studied and tested in di erent modes to get highest frames per second.
