Abstract: Presents a brief overview of print journals. Defines open access movement and explains the reasons for existence in current scenario. Open access movement deals also with promoting creation of institutional archives and usage of open source software and digitization programmes. The article also highlights the areas of open access journals and to an extent open archives and present limitations of OAI movement.
