RRI Digital repository as a tool to support scholarly research

Title: RRI Digital repository as a tool to support scholarly research

Authors: Benegal, Vrinda J.; Sheshadri, Geetha

Abstract: Digital Institutional Repository is a vehicle to showcase the research output of an institution. It becomes important as it is a natural extension of the Academic/Research Libraries responsibility as a promoter of primary research, seeking to preserve and patronage and build up its intellectual assets. This poster illustrates the role of RRI Digital Repository in supporting and enhancing research work in RRI. The Digital Repository of RRI is a place where the library, collects, curates, preserves and provides access to scholarly literature of RRI Academia.

Description: Open Access

Title: Current status of the X-ray polarimeter

Authors: Rishin, P.V.; Gopalakrishna, M.R.; Paul, Biswajit; Duraichelvan, R.; Ateequlla, C.M.; Maitra, Chandreyee; Rajagopala, G.; Nagaraja, H.N.; Ezhilarasi, M.S.; Sandhya, P.; Mamatha, T.S.

Abstract: We describe the current status of a Thomson X-ray polarimeter developed for a small satellite mission. Currently, a laboratory model has been made and tested successfully and the design and fabrication of an engineering model is in progress. This involves, re-design of the currently developed lab model, taking into consideration the different standards required for space qualification. We describe the design aspects of the detector, front-end electronics and the processing electronics.

Description: Open Access

Title: RRI library and NKRC consortia

Authors: Manjunath, M.; Kaddipujar, Manjunath

Abstract: Financial resource is a great cause of concern in these days of shrinking budget, costescalation andInformation explosion for any given library. Consortia are a boon to librarians in the digitalEnvironment enhancing the power of online access to a variety of information resources.CSIR ejournal consortium started in the year 2002. DST funded autonomous organizations joined thisConsortia in April 2009. This CSIR DST consortium was renamed as"National Knowledge Resource Consortium(NKRC)". Since RRI is a DST funded autonomous organization,RRI library has become a major player in this consortium activity. This poster discusses the functionality ofNKRC Consortia with respect to Raman Research Institute. A projection of relevant journal titles for theResearch at RRI is a part of this presentation.

Description: Open Access
